Prabowo Subianto held a National Solidarity Gathering event with 1,600 Muslimat NU from East Java and volunteers at Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Bogor, on Saturday (2/3/2024).
According to Prabowo, the event was held as a form of gratitude for the support of volunteers, Muslimat NU, kyai, and ulama towards him.
“The essence of this afternoon’s event is that I want to express my gratitude to all of you. I want to thank Ibu Khofifah, and all the leaders of Muslimat NU, volunteers everywhere who courageously supported Prabowo-Gibran,” said Prabowo.
Furthermore, Prabowo mentioned that since he was young as a former soldier, he has always been close to ulama.
“Since I was young, I have always felt close to Nahdlatul Ulama. As you know, I was said to be very close to Gus Dur. We have known each other from a young age, he often visited my house, and his house was right across from my grandparents’ house. He has guided me in many things,” Prabowo said.
He also admitted that in history, NU has always been a source of calmness.
“It turns out that in critical moments, NU always appears as a source of calmness, peace, security, and always sided with the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo said.
Due to this, Prabowo hoped that all Muslimat NU would continue to support him, together contribute to the country, including eradicating poverty.
“I still need all of your support, continue to support me, let’s work together to eradicate poverty. Today, I have strength because of the support of all of you,” said Prabowo. (SENOPATI)
