President-elect Prabowo Subianto, who is set to take office for the 2024-2029 term, has made an appeal to his supporters and volunteers from the Prabowo-Gibran alliance to prioritize the peace and unity of Indonesia by avoiding any mass protests at the Constitutional Court.
“I earnestly appeal to all Indonesians, especially the 96.2 million who supported the Prabowo-Gibran ticket, to refrain from any form of protest outside the Constitutional Court or any other location. We must safeguard our democratic stability and uphold the unity of our nation,” Prabowo stated.
While acknowledging the accusations made by his opponents, Prabowo urged his followers to remain calm and peaceful in their actions.
“It’s understandable to feel unsettled in the current situation, and though many have reacted passionately, I encourage everyone to stay composed and approach this situation with a mindset focused on maintaining harmony and peace. Let’s not succumb to provocations that seek to disrupt our societal tranquility,” he emphasized.
Prabowo stressed the importance of exercising restraint and maintaining a level-headed approach in order to prioritize the welfare of the Indonesian people and the unity of the country.
“I urge everyone to stay calm, be thoughtful, and exercise self-control. Let the Constitutional Court and its judges carry out their responsibilities with integrity, keeping in mind the welfare of our people and the future of our beloved nation,” he concluded.
