European Commission Praises Prabowo’s Leadership in CEPA Talks

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for his leadership in finally concluding the long-awaited negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Indonesia and the European Union. After a decade of discussions, they reached a political agreement on a significant free trade deal. Von der Leyen commended Prabowo for his pivotal role in advancing the agreement, emphasizing the mutual trust and shared values that underpin the partnership between the two parties. President Prabowo, in turn, highlighted the benefits that the CEPA would bring to both Indonesia and the EU, emphasizing the complementary nature of their economic interests.
