National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is on a mission to bolster local employment through the recruitment of workers for Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals facing extreme and general poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, shared that a minimum of 30% of personnel in each SPPG will be chosen from underprivileged households, aligning with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program contributes to job opportunities. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units established in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. The MBG Program has positively impacted over 7.4 million individuals nationwide, including students from various educational levels, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and more. In a bid to extend the program’s reach, BGN aims to launch an extra 2,401 SPPG units within the next 10 days, with a goal to serve around 15 million beneficiaries. This initiative underscores a significant push to foster job creation and address nutritional requirements in marginalized communities.
